After 2014’s series of informational animations and a short film celebrating Avista’s 125th year in business, helveticka was asked by the regional energy company to develop a 30-second television commercial for 2015. The spot ran March 16–April 19. Recognizing that few of us ever really think about where energy comes from – or what it takes to generate the electricity we use on a daily basis – the commercial sets out to remind viewers of the almost magical process behind turning water, natural gas, and wind into something that, in turn, produces some pretty amazing outcomes in people’s lives. helveticka worked closely with Avista’s marketing communications team to develop concepts and a script, then teamed up with Spokane production house Mojo for filming, voiceover casting and recording, editing, and an original music score by Mojo’s own Kevin Graham.
