TOTALCONTROL from start to nish
From initial concept to nal packing, edco maintains total control throughout the entire process. Design, prototyping, testing, manufacturing, and assembly are all done in-house to ensure the highest possible quality for our customers.
Innovative products, world-class design. An innovator in the bicycle component market since its earliest days, edco was one of the rst manufacturers of the Presta-style valve and 3-speed internal gear hub. In the late 1980s and early 90s, several key innovations were introduced: the sealed bearing bottom bracket, brake/shift lever integration, hydraulic braking. And we continue to innovate. Our design process starts with the latest CAD, FEM, and CFD software technology and continues with 3D printed models, prototypes, and extensive lab testing.
Swiss-made. Hub parts are made in Switzerland’s Jura province, where the country’s famous watch industry got its start. State-of-the-art equipment and the famous Swiss attention to detail ensure that every edco hub comes off the line with bearing alignment tolerance within 0.001mm.
Extensive quality control. All edco hubs undergo a complete dimensional check before nal hand-assembly. Each rim is subjected to a torsional and compressive load test prior to roundness and atness quality controls. And completed wheels go through a 14-step quality control check before they’re boxed and shipped to the customer.
Handbuilt by professionals. Our hubs and wheels are hand-assembled by master wheel builders at our head of ce in ’s-Hertogenbosch, The Netherlands. Each wheelset requires approximately one and a half hours to achieve perfectly even spoke tension and a 0.2mm lateral tolerance.
Top quality in every wheel. From our entry-level OPTIMA series to our innovative SUPERSPORT range, all edco wheels have gone through the same design, testing, manufacturing, and assembly process. Because we never compromise on quality.
