You could say it was fate that led edco to helveticka for help with its 2016 product catalog. After all, the Netherlands-based bicycle component manufacturer was founded in Couvet, Switzerland – just a couple of hours from Münchenstein, where helveticka’s namesake font was created. Or perhaps it was simply prudence: a recognition that, in order to communicate edco’s wide range of offerings prior to its introduction to the U.S. and Canadian markets (and in time for February’s North American Handmade Bicycle Show in Sacramento), the company needed some creative horsepower. Either way, the result is 20 pages of beautiful black-and-white photography by edco owner Rob van Hoek, product descriptions and specifications, a company history, and a glimpse at the technologies and processes that have contributed to 149 years of inspired engineering, innovative mechanics, and meticulous craftsmanship. helveticka provided creative concepts, design, copywriting and editing, and project management.
