Anderson Mraz Design recently put its exhibit design skills to work for the Northwest Museum of Arts & Culture, creating an interactive experience around the Campbell House, the museum’s historic turn-of-the-century home. The Campbell House Visitor Center, located on the main floor of the home’s carriage house, opened in December.
“AMD helped us clarify our messages and select compelling images for a modern, self-guided, and interactive exhibit in the carriage house,” explained Marsha Rooney, senior curator of history at the MAC. “Now, creative graphics and touchscreen installations allow visitors a closer look inside Campbell House and to discover more about their lives.”
AMD was responsible for nearly all areas of the project, from research and writing to design and fabrication. The exhibit won Gold and Best of Division Awards at the 2012 Inland Northwest ADDY Awards Competition.
“The Campbell House has always been open for guided tours,” added AMD principal and creative director CK Anderson, “but hundreds of archival and collection materials related to the home remained in storage. The carriage house serves as a primer, encouraging visitors to learn more about the Campbell family story.”
