The creative process for Hecla Mining Company’s 2024 Annual Company Overview was energized by new CEO Rob Krcmarov. Formerly Barrick Gold’s global head of exploration, he sees Hecla’s strengths and opportunities in the rapidly growing silver market, and we aimed to reflect that cleareyed optimism on the page.

Speaking of reflecting things on the page, we literally achieved that with metallic duotone photography printed on National Color Graphics’ digital press. The effect is a clever cheat of what used to be done on an old-school offset press, and it added a visually striking reference to Hecla’s dominance as the largest primary silver producer in the U.S. and Canada and the third largest worldwide.
