Strong, agile, determined. These words embody the spirit of the puma – the mascot for the new Peperzak Middle School. That same strength and determination could also describe the schools' namesake, Carla Olman Peperzak. Her perseverance and courage as a teenage member of the Dutch Resistance during World War II helped save many Jews from the Holocaust.

One of four new middle schools either underway or recently completed by the Spokane Public Schools, Peperzak Middle School is set to open to students in the fall of 2023. In preparation for that opening, helveticka collaborated with the school district and the Peperzak team to create a complete identity system for the school, including a suite of logos to use in a variety of applications.
