When Pressworks asked whether helveticka could come up with something a little more original than the typical Christmas card – something that would take advantage of the Spokane printing company’s unique letterpress capabilities – well…we were all over it. And the result? The coveted and collectable Holiday in a Can™. Inside each 3¾” tin are ornaments and gift tags to celebrate Christmas, a set of coasters to protect the furniture while you ring in the New Year, and a special holiday greeting from the Pressworks team. Items were printed on 220-lb. French paper stock using an original 1940s-era Heidelberg Windmill printing press – which you can see in action here. And the designs? Vintage 1940s, just like the press. While Pressworks’ Tyler Hansen says he’s never worked so hard on a project before, something tells us it was worth the extra effort.
