Each year, Helveticahaus awards one or more scholarships to students earning graphic design degrees at Spokane Falls Community College. We’re excited to announce that this year’s winner is musician-designer Gavin Davis, seen here with Helveticahaus founders Linda and CK Anderson.

A percussionist by training, Gavin has been passionate about music for as long as he can remember. In high school, he’d practice in the band room until the staff left and locked the building. In college, he majored in music. But sometime during his last year – between taking an Adobe class and designing concert programs for friends – he discovered a new creative passion: graphic design.

Gavin sees parallels between music and design, and he can imagine a future career that draws on both skill sets. Whatever the gig, we’re confident he’ll have an outstanding performance.
